Obstacles

The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Program is not a 'disability' award, though many of our recipients have faced and overcome physical disabilities.

Obstacles can refer to any circumstances - physical, psychological, societal or environmental - which require personal fortitude. Obstacles include - but are not limited to - physical or mental handicaps, financial hardship, family breakup, deaths or illnesses, refugee situations and other life-altering situations.
